BARET EXPLORERS ORGANIZES THE CLEANING OF THE AUTHIE'S BAY WITH NGOs GREENPEACE, SEA SEPHERD, SURFRIDER FONDATION, LPO...

TONS OF PLASTIC WASTES COLLECTED AND EXPLAINED ON VIDEO !

Since they were little, Liv and Heimanù have lived near the beaches. In France they take part every year in collecting all the plastic colours that are deposited on the sand with family and friends. Everybody is motivated, the sun accompanies them and they all spend a physically intense day! And then the years go by and the movement runs out of steam... and the waste settles in !

THE WORLD OCEAN DAY, IT IS EVERYDAY !

The band was inspired by World Ocean Day. Of course, actions also take place outside this day, but this ecological symbol needs to exist to strengthen communication around the preservation of marine ecosystems.

As a reminder, World Ocean Day takes place on 8 June, a date decided in 2009. But it was originally voted in 1992 (already 28 years old - has things improved since then? ) at the Rio summit.

The great nations of our world voted this law to raise awareness about the preservation of the oceans and the management of its resources.

The World Ocean Network and the American association The Ocean Project are coordinating the celebration of this day. They have also acted jointly for the official recognition of this event by the United Nations, notably through a petition proposed to the public.

And so on June 8, events are being organised all over the world: schools, museums, associations and institutions for marine environmental education offer their public festivities full of fun activities and concrete actions, so that young and old alike can learn more about the sea.

An "Ocean Passport" is thus distributed to participants, who in exchange commit themselves to carrying out a certain number of concrete actions (including at the domestic level) in favour of the preservation of the seas.

ORGANIZE, GATHER ... WORKING WITH NGOs !

With this in mind, Baret Explorers contacted several NGOs to take care of the Bay of Authie at their own level. The communication message was slightly different.

Of course the usual message of "everyone just has to do their part and the sea will be clean" is true, but it seems difficult to perceive what "their part" represents.

So to figure this out more easily, and so that everyone can better put themselves into action, Baret Explorers is communicating on a Planetoscope calculation: with 634 tons of plastic dumped into the oceans per second, each land person must collect 50 kilos per week.

It's a lot, but it gives you an idea.

SEA SHEPHERD, GREENPEACE, the SURFRIDER FOUNDATION, the LEAGUE for BIRD PROTECTION, Les Echos du Touquet - Journal de Montreuil - Le Réveil de Berck, Mona FM, Radio 6. Thank you for the support, thank you to the participants and to the local people.

They relayed the information and answered the call of the Baret Explorers, and on April 10, 2019, it was a good day of collecting.

And very educational. You will find below a small video with an explanation of the plastic polluting waste :
